Hold On 05:03
I’m not sleeping, my eyes are just closed I’m not lazy, my arms have just evolved I won’t waste my breath out there I’ll just wait for you in here. I’m not speaking in simple black and white It’s not easy to tell you what I like I’m just teething now, forgot what that feels like Forgot what I get like, in the middle of the night. Teach me how to sit in sin If I could jump high I would in a minute. Show me love whilst sitting still It’s on its way, it’s on its way. Tripped into a memory, falling. I speak into a melody, forming. From a far, I’ll never be leaving. Never feed reason, I never believed in. Teach me how to sit in sin If I could jump high I would in a minute. Show me love whilst sitting still It’s on its way, it’s on its way.

The Source 04:28
Plant a seed, in the crack Touching base, hands on flat Never found my way to live Though I’m not trying to be a fortune gift, Never sought out just to exist Though I’m not parting from the rest of it. Plant a seed, in the crack Touching base, hands on flat Reach into the source again Try not to follow blind I will try not to, Let the skies push me out Although the winds will try Thoughts keep in line when No-one sticks out from the crowd, Normally I’d turn back round Time to face it, I’m still wasting, all of my time Up for changing, no more pacing, back to the line. I believe, I’ll believe in you. I believe, I’ll believe with you I believe, I’ll believe in you. I believe, I’ll be leaving true. Furloughed so we can plant a seed, Sticking by this fantasy. Touching our fingers but through a screen, not so sure what to believe I believe, I’ll believe in you. I believe, I’ll believe with you I believe, I’ll believe in you. I believe, I’ll be leaving true

Still 04:49
Mother mother, can’t you see I’m old, I’m broke, I’m woke Tough to see a change in me, Some things never do change. Still you treat me like a child I know I fell over Keep me from the things you fear I'm dumb, no fun, sorry. Settle down now don’t go red I’m only trying to help Thicker than mud its blood we share Guess I’m stuck in my own ways Like a bad dream, you know the scene We hide and scream, talk in-between. Too young to hear what's being said Behind closed doors, our loving mess. Mother mother, finally I’m old, I’m broke, I’m woke Three feet high I’ll always be, Some things never do change Still remember from those days
Long lost, temper, we said Paintings stay stuck in their ways, Captured, Landscapes, re-framed

Time 04:05
I’ll turn into your hopelessness And keep myself deprived, Of all the things that eat you up And make you hide inside. You won’t understand whats happening, Just feel the sands unravelling. And as thoughts outnumber days And old ships drift off into the haze. But time tastes better when you’re nearby Old thoughts linger in your spare Time tastes better when you’re nearby Old thoughts linger in your spare time. But we’ll start again, Taking one step back but two ahead. Just take a look, at what we’ve done All things tied up can come undone. It tastes bitter when you’re not here, My dreams flicker and disappear It tastes bitter when you’re not here, Can dreams flicker and reappear.

Life Long 06:40
We were sat in the sun, her eyes weeping Thinking how much weight, their shoulders carried She was In pain to see, their eyes so wet As they changed the sheets of her bed. When all she felt was their touch, her eyes lit up As they walked in the room, the dog did too He was sat in the sun, as she played and threw it her shoe As they went into the night She’d say I’ve lived, I’ve lived my life for you It’s time to go, time of leaving you This time it’s true, you have to go on without me But I’ll walk with you She’d say I’ve lived my life for you It’s time to go, time of leaving you This time it’s true, you have to go on without me But i’ll walk you, until the end. But I’ll walk you, always with you,

about

'Life Long' is a cathartic inner-monologue on love, self-help and life cycles. Created by lyricist and producer Tal Janes and producer Joseph Costi, Bahla’s second body of work invites us into their genre-fluid world of close-knit rhythms, celestial textures and the ethereal, yet powerful vocals of Portuguese singer Inês Loubet.

Their most recent offering 'Life Long', a 5-track self-produced EP, builds on their signature sound and has a strong focus on lyricism, production and hooks akin to the likes of Little Dragon, James Blake and Thom Yorke. Joined by long time collaborators; drummer Ben Brown, bassist Andrea DI Biase and the creative stellar work from mixer Alex Killpartrick, the EP also sees a new collaboration with electronic producer Mark Cake on the self-titled track ‘Life Long’.

Leaving the door open to new sonic possibilities, Bahla’s identity continues to bloom with discovery whilst being grounded in rich traditions.
